The Feast of Corpus Christi, on June 19, 2022, will launch the Eucharistic Revival in the United States. The year will consist of the Diocese of Kalamazoo focusing on the Eucharist through their various events. Additional information will be provided as planning continues.
Parishes have the opportunity to begin or increase Eucharistic Adoration. Small group gatherings of prayer, learning to pray and discussions of God's gift of the Eucharist offered to understand the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The Diocese of Kalamazoo will assist the parishes with involving parishioners in the Eucharistic Revival.
This year will begin with a week long Eucharistic Congress in Indianappolis, IN of Catholics from across the United States. Their encounter with Jesus will take them back to their parishes on mission as they share their renewed relationship with the presence of Jesus in the Mass and in their lives.
"The Bishops of the United States are calling for a three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. They believe that God wants to see a movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist—and sent out in mission “for the life of the world.”
These three years will culminate in the first National Eucharistic Congress in the United States in almost fifty years. Almost a hundred thousand Catholics will join together in Indianapolis for a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage toward the “source and summit” of our Catholic faith."
The National Eucharistic Revival Website offers a course The Mystery of the Eucharist in the Life of the Church, presented by Bishop Cozzens who is the head of the Committee for Evangelization and Catechsis. This is a great way to begin to understand the Eucharist. You can click here to sign up for the course. Additional resources will be added to the website as the revival progresses.
