According to the
National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry

Renewing the Vison: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry
(both from the
United States Catholic Conference of Bishops
), youth ministry is "the response of the Christian community to the needs of young people, and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community." Youth Ministry seeks to support and develop the youth's relationship with Jesus Christ, strengthen the youth to share their faith with their peers and their parish community, and bring the Good News of our Lord into their homes, their school, and all those they meet. Renewing the Vision,
Young Adult Ministry seeks to continue the same vision of that of Youth Ministry with a desire to strengthen and support the individual in his or her life journey as questions of vocation, life, identity, and faith arise. It is through prayerfully resting at the feet of Jesus that each young man and woman comes to greater understanding as to what his or her journey is in this life.
